Balkan flavours arrive in Koukáki

Gastronómos marked the opening of Esthiō, the new Koukáki restaurant where chef Elvi-Dimitris Zyba proposes a contemporary kitchen with a Greek base and influences drawn from across the Balkans.

Working alongside partners Yiannis Boutsikaris and Thodoris Leontaritis, the chef revisits traditional recipes from countries such as Serbia, Bulgaria and Albania, giving them a lighter, more creative form.

The result is a menu firmly rooted in regional home cooking but presented with a modern, seasonal eye — a fresh addition to the neighbourhood just below the Acropolis.
